Beverley Aronstan

Beverley has a private practice in Bondi Junction where she receives referrals for individuals, couples and families on a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, relationships, grief and loss issues, family issues, divorce, remarriage and step-family.

A relationship should be one of mutual understanding, caring and comfort especially from those that are nearest and dearest. However, all too often through circumstances of misunderstanding and miscommunication, a relationship can start to disintegrate.

Beverley offers a safe and confidential space where relationships and patterns of behaviour can be gently explored. Beverley is an experienced relationships counsellor, with heterosexual, same sex, or gay couples.

Counselling can increase the awareness of one’s own accountability and of significant other’s feelings behind certain behaviours, which in turn can be beneficial towards helping an individual and couple break or de-escalate cycles of repetitive, negative behaviour.

An intimate relationship can turn from one of hopelessness to a more mature, loving and connected one. Therapy is aimed at systematically breaking down years of resentment and allowing couples to turn towards each other, instead of against each other.

Therapy can help an individual learn to cope with the emotional roller coaster of fertility treatment. Counselling might be a time where a couple can learn how they can nurture themselves and their relationship during fertility treatment.

As an experienced infertility counsellor she is aware of and can provide assistance with individuals, couples and families who are experiencing fertility issues and needing to make decisions about fertility treatment. Miscarriage or early pregnancy loss is a source of great distress, and counselling can provide a time people find it useful to speak to someone who can provide them with support and psycho-education, outside of the family.

Memberships

When fertility treatment has not been successful and third party reproduction such as egg, sperm or embryo donation becomes an option, Beverley has an in depth knowledge and understanding on the potential legal and psychosocial implications of donor conception.

As an independent private practitioner, Beverley has experience with assessment for surrogacy counselling as well as post surrogacy counselling.

A major life change occurs when a couple have a baby, even when the baby has been planned. Parenthood can cause a lot of joy but also a lot of stress. Counselling can be a way of gently helping parents adjust to parenthood as a life transition in their relationship.
